The McCall area boasts some of the Rocky Mountain’s best snowmobiling terrain ranging from gentle to extreme. In fact, in 2005 SnoWest ranked McCall in the top five destinations in the U.S and rated the area first for snow quality, third for terrain, fourth for services and fifth for scenery, crowds and off trail conditions.
McCall has four groomers who maintain over 750 miles of trails to ride from dawn to dusk as well as thousands of acres of powder covered backcountry.
Snowmobile parking is available at the low elevation Francis Wallace and Green Gate parking lots on Warren Wagon Road, the Goose Creek High Elevation lot near Brundage Mountain Resort, and the West Face Parking lot off Highway 55. The Wallace Lane Parking lot in New Meadows connects into the Goose Lake trail system as far as Hazard lake. There is also a lot north of Tamarack Falls on West Mountain Road west of Donnelly.
Trail maps with routes, mileages and GPS coordinates for junctions can be purchased from most snowmobile retailers, outfitters and local law enforcement agencies. Also see the McCall area snowmobile trails map (660kb .pdf)
